Public Sector

CCI Research specializes in public sector research in education, training, employment, health, and other social research areas.

CCI Research has a proven track record of success in working with all levels of government. We have worked with federal government agencies in the conduct of nationwide studies to inform public policy and to assess the effectiveness of federally-funded programs. In addition, we have extensive experience in working on a broad range of projects with provincial and municipal levels of government, as well as postsecondary institutions and other public agencies—many on a recurring basis—which is a testament to our commitment to high-quality research.

We are highly aware of the importance government and other public sector organizations place on maximizing value and supporting accountability.  Therefore, we strive to manage projects with efficiency, transparency, and optimal use of resources.

Our professional research team keeps abreast of the ever-changing research landscape and we continue to adapt our techniques to address challenges in the field of research, such as the downward trend in survey response rates, cell-phone-only households, and harder to reach target groups, to name a few.  We go the extra mile to maximize response rates and realize desired levels of statistical representation.

Brief descriptions of the diversity and breadth of our work with government and other public sector organizations, particularly in the areas of education-related research, and in health and social research follow.  (click each icon for details).

  • CCI Research has a wealth of experience in conducting complex, large-scale, multi-methods education research to facilitate decision-making, drive policy, improve programs and services, inform communication and outreach strategies, as well as to serve accountability purposes.

For example, at the federal level, we worked to design and conduct nationwide surveys of Canada Student Loan applicants and borrowers as one line of evidence in the broader evaluation of the federally-funded program.

At the provincial level, we have conducted education studies—many on a recurring basis—in Ontario, Alberta, and New Brunswick on topics such as: satisfaction with the education system, postsecondary graduate outcomes and employer satisfaction, social assistance and student financial assistance programs, job skills training and workforce development, student health and wellbeing, and sexual violence and harassment, to name a few.

Beyond our work with government agencies, we have established productive relationships with a multitude of postsecondary institutions to conduct quantitative and qualitative research on a variety of topics such as: student satisfaction and service experiences, graduate outcomes, employer satisfaction, student retention, community awareness and opinions, image and reputation, as well as employee engagement and satisfaction.

  • CCI Research has worked with numerous public health organizations on studies to monitor the impact of interventions, inform program planning, determine the allocation of human and financial resources, establish priorities for projects and programs, as well as contribute to marketing and public awareness campaigns. Much of this work has focused on important issues related to public health and social programs and services, as well as on environmental health issues.

For example, CCI Research has worked repeatedly to conduct investigatory research at the federal level into the origins of outbreaks. We have also worked with provincial and municipal agencies to garner community perceptions on regional public health programs and services related to the health and wellbeing of infants, children and youth; as well as perceptions on police services, homelessness, experiences with housing programs, and youth unemployment including issues related to mental health, addictions, incarcerations, and life skills. Our research on environmental health issues has addressed topics such as smoking, air and water quality, mold and mildew, paint and other toxic substances, and various physical hazards. In addition, we have undertaken school-based health research to obtain insights from parents, educators, students and others on topics related to youth/child health behaviours such as smoking, drinking, eating habits, bullying, and mental health.
