Analytics

CCI Research delivers meaningful, actionable, evidence-based research to inform organizational decisions and drive positive change.

To be effective, organizational leaders  must have the data, research, and actionable intelligence to effectively manage organizational performance, optimize the use of resources, and remain relevant and competitive. This requires the collection, analysis, reporting, and communication of research and data that is situated within an organization’s context, translated into meaningful information to inform organizational decisions and actions, and effectively communicated in ways that resonate with key stakeholders.

CCI Research analysts have expertise in conducting data analyses at varying levels of complexity and in generating analytics appropriate to the issues at hand—from simple descriptive analytics that describe what has happened over a period of time, to diagnostic analytics that ascertain why something happened, to predictive analytics that establish what is likely going to happen, through to prescriptive analytics to suggest a specific course of action. Similarly, reports on research findings are designed to meet each client’s needs—from basic tabular and graphical reports, to more complex dashboard presentations, scorecard formats, infographics, interactive tools, brief written summaries, and detailed written reports. We have a proven record of success in conducting consumer-based social research and in generating analytics that serve the needs of decisions leaders, particularly in relation to understanding client satisfaction and service experience, measuring and optimizing organizational performance, undertaking program evaluations, and in assessing employee engagement. A brief description of our experience in each of these areas follows. (click each icon to see content).

Client projects vary in nature from one-time in-depth cross-sectional studies on a specific topic, to longitudinal studies that follow the same participants over time, to studies that are repeated over many years with progressive cohorts. For all projects, we work in partnership with our clients to identify and operationally define relevant variables,  measurement indicators, and metrics that pertain to such topics as client needs, satisfaction, viewpoints, service experiences, service impact, and the like.

Since the early 1990’s, CCI Research has conducted research projects to measure organizational performance for purposes of: (a) generating key performance indicators (KPIs) for accountability reporting, (b) guiding decisions related to policies, programs, and practices, (c) designing public awareness campaigns and communications, and (d) informing other organizational functions. We have a longstanding record of success in conducting provincial studies that involve performance measurement in Ontario, Alberta and New Brunswick—often on a recurring basis. For example, for more than a decade, CCI Research has conducted the Ontario University Graduate Survey on behalf of the government ministry responsible for the postsecondary system. The purpose of the survey is to collect quality data on the employment outcomes and experiences of each cohort of graduates from undergraduate programs, both six months and two years after graduation. Survey findings are used to calculate the employment rates of the graduates, as well as to monitor trends in system performance, and inform policy and planning.

CCI Research has the capability to utilize a wide array of methods in conducting evaluations, both formative (process-based) and summative (outcomes-based) to inform policies, programs and services. We have conducted, or contributed to the conduct of evaluations for all levels of government (federal, provincial, and municipal) on a diverse range of topics, such as:  postsecondary student social assistance and student financial assistance programs, community-based supportive housing projects and related services to reduce poverty and chronic homelessness, workforce development and job skills programs, and youth employability and mental health programs.

CCI Research has conducted employee satisfaction, engagement, opinion, and pulse surveys for a number of organizations and postsecondary institutions. Our employee engagement surveys are typically custom designed for each client organization to address issues that matter most within the organization’s situational context, and in consideration of its workplace culture and strategic goals. Our surveys are designed to provide meaningful insights and associated analytics to gauge employee engagement levels, and to identify areas of strength on which to build, as well as those requiring improvement. Survey content areas frequently include topics related to leadership effectiveness, employee productivity and workplace conditions, career growth and development opportunities, employee health and wellness, compensation and benefits, as well as organizational policies and practices related to diversity/equity/inclusion/belonging (DEIB), among others. This research has been used to gauge the progress and effectiveness of strategies employed, particularly when conducted on a repeat basis.
