Data Collection Manager

A professional research company located in Orangeville, Ontario is looking for a Data Collection Manager to join our dynamic environment. Our survey research projects are in the fields of education, health, and business and have meaningful impacts for the clients we work with in government, public health, educational institutions and organizations, and other sectors.

As the Data Collection Manager with CCI Research Inc., you will play a key role in the planning, setup, and fielding of survey research projects as well as the collection and processing of data collected by various data collection methods such as mail-out, paper, telephone, and combined methodologies. You will be responsible for:

  • oversight and management of the bilingual in-bound/out-bound contact center as well as the data collection paper and scanning departments,
  • contributing to the day-to-day management of relevant clients,
  • liaising with other departments, project leads, and management on behalf of your departments, and
  • supporting all on-site operations at CCI Research.

The Data Collection Manager position is on-site in Orangeville, ON and an integral role with CCI Research where you will have a daily impact on company operations.

The successful candidate for this position will have:

  • A university degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years management or 5 years of supervisory experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience communicating with/managing clients

The following attributes would be considered advantageous for the position:

  • A graduate level education (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a related field
  • Call center /contact center management or supervisory experience
  • Bilingual/multi-lingual with additional desirability if the candidate is fluent in French
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Project management experience
  • Applied experience in survey research

The successful candidate will possess exceptional:

Experience with database management and statistical tools such as SPSS or STATA as well as survey platforms such as VOXCO or other CATI systems are also considered an asset.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building and management of the data collection team of supervisors, interviewers, and clerical workers. Volume of staff fluctuates based on project load and methodology but ranges from 10-50 plus FT/PT employees. Including:
    • Hiring
    • Training
    • Scheduling
    • Regular performance monitoring and reviews
    • Hour’s monitoring
    • Termination
    • Communication with finance on payroll
  • Management of our bilingual (English and French) in-bound/out-bound contact center and data collection paper and scanning department including but not limited to:
    • Client management and engagement, including attending and leading meetings
    • Development of department protocols and documentation
    • Planning, setup, quality control, monitoring, and fielding of survey research projects in our CATI system
    • Setup and processing of paper surveys with Scantron software and scanners
    • Management and signing of reimbursement payments
    • Quoting of system upgrades
    • Handling of relevant suppliers (e.g., couriers, survey platform, phone system, printers, scanners, mailing machines)
    • Management and monitoring of project supplies
    • Monitoring of project timelines and budgets
    • Ensuring full knowledge of all projects in the department
    • Liaising with other departments, project leads, and management, as required
    • Final quality control checks on all project deliverables for the departments
